Unified Special Olympics Fundraiser
CAMP HUMPHREYS – Humphreys Middle School held the Unified Yard Sale from 9 a.m. 2p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024. Students, staff, and the community were able to donate items, and the proceeds will benefit the Unified Special Olympics.
Every year, Humphreys Middle School hosts the Unified Special Olympics at the HMS football field. This event brings together students with disabilities from all DoDEA schools in South Korea, as well as students with disabilities from our host nation neighbors in Pyeongtaek. This event is not just a competition; it is a celebration of inclusion, determination, and the incredible spirit of our athletes.
The Unified Special Olympics provides a platform for these students to showcase their talents, build friendships, and experience the joy of sports. It is a testament to the power of community and the importance of providing equal opportunities for all individuals, regardless of their abilities.
Ms. Barrett, Learning Support Teacher, organizes the yearly Olympics, and the Unified Club, an inclusion club for all students at HMS, was there to support the event. Donations will support uniforms, food, and medals for all the amazing athletes participating.
